The Honorable Roy Charles Brooks
As NOBCO Chairman and NACo President, I have been on the frontline of one of the fastest growing urban counties in the United States. I strongly believe that counties can visualize and orchestrate projects that are bigger and better than any one entity can realize and I will work to continue to inspire and energize communities to work together for the overall benefit of its citizens.
For over 3 decades, I have dedicated myself to developing and executing best practices through experience and continued collaboration with community stakeholders in an effort to address the needs of young people and families in Tarrant County and across the nation.
My initiative as NACo’s President will be to raise awareness of the critical role counties play in breaking the cycle of poverty. As the ultimate safety net, county investments and leadership in early childhood development will lower future costs in county health, child welfare, safety and justice and other systems. Counties also forge partnerships with the public, private and non-profit sectors at the federal, state and local levels to remove barriers, build opportunities and address the many faces of poverty in America.
I am committed to tackling crucial issues such as: Breaking the Cycle of Poverty, Healthcare for the Homeless, Infant Mortality, Obesity, Access of Care, Criminal Justice, Health Disparities, and AIDS Education. Thank you for your support and commitment throughout
